Cephie Snap: instant image URLs

Cephie Snap upload flow

Cephie Snap is a small tool with a single job: upload an image, get a permanent URL back. No accounts, no albums, no friction.

It's part of the Cephie Studios product line, the same team behind PFControl and the PFConnect bot ecosystem.

Why build another image host?

Because most image sharing is either too heavy or too temporary.

Discord compresses and expires links. Imgur adds ads and account pressure. Cloud storage dashboards weren't built for "I need a URL in three seconds."

Cephie Snap optimizes for one flow: drop or select an image, upload it, copy the URL. That's it. The URL is permanent, which makes it useful for documentation, Discord embeds, forum posts, and quick sharing in dev communities.

Use cases

I use Snap constantly for things that don't deserve a full media pipeline — screenshots in GitHub issues, sharing UI mockups in Discord without quality loss, dropping reference images into docs or blog drafts, and quick handoffs when someone asks what something looks like.

The tool stays minimal on purpose. Every extra feature like galleries, accounts, or social feeds would slow down the one thing it's actually good at.

Under the hood

Snap runs on Cephie Studios infrastructure with object storage behind a thin upload API. Images land in durable storage with cache-friendly URLs served from the edge.

The constraints are deliberate. Accepted formats are common web image types only. Size limits cover screenshots and photos but not raw video frames. There's no auth for uploads — speed over gatekeeping, with abuse handled at the infrastructure layer.

Part of a bigger picture

Cephie Snap sits alongside PFControl and PFConnect as part of a toolkit for aviation and gaming communities. Not every product needs to be a platform. Sometimes the best tool is the one that does exactly one thing and disappears when you're done.
